ABOUT US

LAMAC

We are excited to announce our new Latin American Crossdisciplinary Music and Arts Cultural Center. The LAC will provide in-person workshops and classes to Boston communities. This initiative, developed by Zaira Meneses and Nadia Galaviz, is part of the Latin American Music Festival’s transition into a nonprofit organization that started in May 2024.

Starting January 2025, the program will run through January 2026 at The Foundry in Cambridge, MA, offering a rich curriculum highlighting the diversity and vibrancy of Latin American music and dance traditions with cross-disciplinary approaches to art-making with communicative skills.

These educational opportunities are designed for people of all ages and backgrounds to make the Latin American culture and arts more accessible to the community. By providing expert-led instruction in music, dance, and collaborative interdisciplinary projects, participants will gain hands-on experience with traditional and contemporary art forms, fostering a deeper appreciation for this rich cultural heritage. In addition, the program will present a variety of classes to train students on how to promote the LAMFest education.

The workshops will be taught by a team of experienced artists, guests professionals in their fields and educators, providing an engaging and supportive environment for learners at all levels. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced student, these classes offer a unique opportunity to connect with others and explore Latin America’s dynamic rhythms, sounds, and movements and new ways of bringing different artistic disciplines together.
